Women in Manufacturing

Women in Manufacturing is a subgroup of The Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) created specifically for women in the manufacturing industry. This community hopes to help women within the industry to connect with each other, network, share information and experience, and learn from one another.
The association began in 2009 with a small group of women in Chicago who wanted to discuss challenges in their field as the minority group. The group continued to meet together in 2010, and also offered a round table conference at the annual PMA Meeting in October 2010.
In April 2011 the group decided to expand to include all women in manufacturing disciplines, not just metal work. In December of 2011, over one hundred and thirty women joined in for the first Women in Manufacturing symposium. After the success of their first conference, the group is planning for the future with year-round networking opportunities, mentoring programs, quarterly e-newsletters and an online directory.
Janet Kaiser, the President of Century Metal Spinning has been a member of The Precision Metalforming Association for over twenty-five years, and is proud to be a member of Women in Manufacturing since its founding in 2009.
